The Power of Mom
Billions of dollars have been lost as conservative Americans boycott products and places that have left traditional American values, and anything remotely Christian. They are promoting a “woke agenda” as they flaunt what is unhealthy, unwholesome, and even perverse by traditional standards.
In a broadcast by the Epoch times on July 11th the host pointed out that the major force behind the boycotts and losses to these major corporations is Moms.
Mothers, in an effort to protect their children (think Mama Bear) have asked their social media contacts to quietly boycott these companies. Most of us have thought it was a great idea and have done so. Billions of dollars have been lost.
Though this sounds like a win, the companies have not eased up. It appears some of them may have toned it down, but none of them have openly apologized for the thoughtlessness of their actions or the unhealthy messages they are trying to convey,
However, it is not really a loss for the nation. The bravery of these Moms to stand up and speak out publicly against this raging madness of our day has been a catalyst for others to also speak up or act on their own convictions.
For a long time it has been taboo to speak against the minority who are trying to reshape our nation into the perversions of so many people as they promoted lifestyles and trends that would ultimately be harmful to many, especially children.
Parenting comes with some high expectations of parents to teach their children God’s laws and His statutes. Parents have a huge responsibility to teach their children what is right and what is wrong, what is loving and kind and what is evil.
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 say, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Accordingly, we should be learning and applying God’s law to man’s actions as well as our children’s so that we teach them correctly about what is happening around us. If we sit quietly by as the world around us spirals into the depths of all kinds of sin, but especially sexual perversions, what is our silence teaching our kids? (See Isaiah 5:20).
“The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” This line from a poem by William Ross Wallace is true. The love that the Lord has placed in a mother’s heart for her children brings great courage when they are being harmed in any way. We have to think with a long term generational view. If the Moms would stop speaking up in protection of their children, what will be the life left for our grandchildren and great-children? In some cultures, even today, no woman or child is safe outside of the fences around their own homes. Is that what we want for the future of our children?
Christian Moms and Dads, we must be among those willing to work against what is being forced on our kids. It is not only in the public schools (we can get them out of there) but it is also in our stores, entertainment, and community happenings.
All Moms have power to protect their children but Christian Moms have a super-power. It is the Word of God. It is living and active and sharper than a double edged sword. Will we use it to teach truth to our little corner of the world?
