Blood Guilt

So you shall purge the guilt of innocent blood from your midst, when you do what is right in the sight of the LORD. Deuteronomy 21:9

“You shall not murder,” comes from the mouth of God (Exodus 20:1). Yet, many Christians seem to question it. Many think we should just keep on keepin’ on with what “we” have been doing about the “murder by abortion” freedom in our land.

I don’t know about others, but I have not done much.

I have believed abortion is murder. I have believed it was something God hates. I believed the “Pro-life Movement” when they said we (Christians) were making progress.

God opened my eyes to the truth that there has been little progress, even though the numbers are less for surgical abortions, the numbers of chemical abortions are not as well reported.

The first truth that got my attention was that any “law” passed that ends with, “and then you can kill the baby,” still kills the baby. If we eliminate (by law) every abortion after 24 weeks, we still are allowing the abortion of any baby up to 24 weeks.

If we make abortion clinics clean and adhere to every American with Disabilities Act’s guidelines, we will have more clean and accessible “clinics.” BUT,  we are still killing the babies.

In His Word, God is clear about how much He hates the shedding of innocent blood. (See Deuteronomy 19:10-13, 21:8-9, Psalm 106:38).  Who could be more innocent than an unborn baby?

By being silent we are not innocent in the shedding of this innocent blood.

I have never sent anyone for an abortion or even encouraged or given someone a ride. But, in my silence, have I not been complicit in not protecting the unborn and allowing the shedding of innocent blood without any resistance?

Based on available state-level data, an estimated 906,000 abortions took place in the USA in 2015. In 2014,  there were about 926,240 abortions in the U.S., down from 1.06 million in 2011, 1.21 million abortions in 2008, 1.2 million in 2005, 1.29 million in 2002, 1.31 million in 2000 and 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2011, nearly 53 million legal abortions occurred in the U.S. The total number since teh Roe Vs, Wade decision is reported to over 63,000,000 babies murdered in their mother’s wombs. 906,000 abortions is still too many by about 906,000!

Until Christians insist that our lawmakers (and our nation) adhere to the Law of God that murder is sin and is to be punished, this holocaust of pre-born babies will continue.

Is there a “clinic” near you where you could go plead and pray for women to save the lives of their babies?

Will you tell the mothers that Christ has answers to whatever situation makes them this unwilling to raise their own child?

There are Christians who will take their baby if they really decide not to keep the child in their womb.

Will you call or write to your local and state representatives to stop the killing of innocent children that is soaking our land with innocent blood?
